About the position

Responsibilities

  • Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families to create a healing environment.
  • Obtain and interpret assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses and monitor patient stability.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Teach patients and families about self-care and illness prevention, adjusting information based on their needs.
  • Respond quickly to rapidly changing situations and activate emergency protocols as needed.
  • Monitor and ensure quality healthcare practices, looking for opportunities for improvement.
  • Integrate multiple requests and work expectations by setting priorities and delegating tasks appropriately.
  • Contribute to team building and positive morale through participation in unit programs and meetings.
  • Utilize available technology for communication and documentation in clinical situations.
  • Demonstrate leadership in the professional practice setting and evaluate own nursing practice against standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
  • California Registered Nurse (CA-RN) license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required depending on the cost center.
